Women’s fashion retailer Jigsaw is about to re-open its “iconic home” on London’s Kensington High Street unveiling its newly refurbished flagship next week (2 October).

The 2,300 sq ft space “marks a striking evolution of the brand’s heritage” in a design that comes courtesy of Nigel Coates, who originally conceived the first 1988 store “utilising the natural linens and sun-soaked colours of Jigsaw clothing transposed to a Mediterranean world”.
Fast-forward over 30 years and the reimagined store stays true to the brand’s commitment to conscious design, using natural materials and upcycled key elements – such as repurposed elm wood flooring from Jigsaw’s former Kew head office.
The result is an “elevated, boutique-style environment that invites customers to explore Jigsaw’s latest collections in a setting that feels both inspiring and intimate”.
Signature features – including designer Tom Dixon’s original sun light installation and Coates’ wrought iron rail stands – have been restored and refinished for the reopening. Bespoke Lilium suspension lights, designed by Coates and handcrafted in Italy, “further enhance the immersive atmosphere”.
“Staying faithful to the original design language while embracing modern updates”, Vicki Baker, retail director at Jigsaw, said:“High Street Kensington has always been an important part of Jigsaw’s story. Working once again with Nigel Coates… this reopening is both a celebration of our heritage and an exciting step into the future.
“The new space captures everything we stand for: timeless style, beautiful design, and an inspiring experience for our customers.”
